Description
Cherry-plum cross, dark red fruit halfway between cherry and plum in size and flavour. Eat fresh, bake, or preserve. Thin out excess branches for stronger limbs and more fruit.
Zone: 5
Pollinator: Preferred / Self Pollinating
Pollinator Partner: pollinates other cherries and plums
Ripens: September
Siting: Full sun, protected from wind but with good air circulation. East exposure is helpful to dry off dew. Avoid top or bottom of hills unless protected by windbreak or building. Plant where falling fruit will not be an issue, nor under wires. Many fruit trees can be very ornamental, so use them as part of your landscape design.
Purchase Size: 20MM BR 6-8′
Condition: bare root
Approximate Mature Size (H x W): 9’x9′
*Note that some trees require another variety for pollination. If there is another tree of the same variety within 100′ you should be fine. If not, and you don’t have space for two trees, maybe your neighbour can buy one and you can share the bounty!
